New Play Park Opening – Hastings Gardens, New Hartley

New Play Park Opening – Hastings Gardens, New Hartley

Face painting, music and ice cream were the order of the day at the official opening of a new children’s play park at Hastings Gardens, New Hartley which took place on Saturday 1 June.

The new park, fencing and decorative planting have been funded by Seaton Valley Council together with a contribution from Cllr. Susan Dungworth’s NCC member’s small schemes fund.

The park has been created on a parcel of under used land that has stood redundant for over 30 years.

Cllr. Susan Dungworth cut the ribbon to open the park and said “ever since I became a Councillor I have wanted to see this piece of land brought back into use. I hope the park provides many hours of enjoyment for the children that use it and provides a lovely space for parents to sit and chat while their children play”.

The youngest visitor on the day, 1 day old Polly Guthrey was heard to say ‘I can’t wait until I’m old enough to play on that slide’.
