Work is starting today (19 May) to remove the unsightly brick shrub beds at the corner of Fontburn Road and Elsdon Avenue in Seaton Delaval.
The works are being funded from Cllr Bowman’s Northumberland County Council Members Small Schemes Fund and it is something that residents have been asking for ever since Cllr Bowman became the County Councillor for Holywell Ward.
Once the beds are removed the area will be grassed over with the addition of one or two small trees.
Contractors W L Straughan and Son Ltd hope to complete the work by the end of the week.
Pedestrians are asked to be mindful of the works as the adjoining footpath will be closed for the duration of the contract.
