We held our first post-lockdown Community Litter Pick in New Hartley on Saturday 18 July.
Volunteers joined Seaton Valley councillors and staff at the Memorial Hall fields and thankfully the rain stopped just in time for the start of the litter pick. The pickers concentrated their efforts around the Memorial Field and play areas and the play area in Hastings Gardens, picking up litter as they walked through the village.
Our Community Litter Picks have been a great way for residents to get involved in where they live. Cllr. Susan Dugworth said ‘although there was very little litter in the village we still managed to find some under hedges and along paths and every piece collected helps keep the village tidy’.
We hold regular Litter Picks in all of our villages and details of the events are posted on our website and social media, so if you have an hour to spare why not come and join us.
