Seaton Valley Council is running a Christmas Present Appeal by asking residents to donate new or nearly new toys so that they can be given to families in Seaton Valley that may be struggling a little more than usual this Christmas.
The impact of the Covid pandemic has caused a big challenge for many of the most vulnerable low-income families in the area. Many people have lost their jobs or have been placed on furlough resulting in their financial circumstances being seriously stretched and are being particularly hard hit just before Christmas.
We want to make Christmas a little more special for the children of those families who are struggling through our Christmas Present appeal.
We are asking for donations of new or nearly new toys, books, or puzzles that are in good condition and working order. Unfortunately, we cannot accept electrical toys that run off the mains.
You can make your donations at our offices in Seaton Delaval, on Monday to Friday between 09:00 AM and 3:00 PM and we would be grateful if all donations could be made by Tuesday 15 December.
If you need a little extra support with presents for your young children, we will be distributing presents from Astley Park Pavilion in Seaton Delaval on Thursday 17 December between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
There is no requirement to book an appointment, just come along to the Pavilion and volunteers will be on-hand to distribute the presents.
