Northumberland County Council project team for the new school buildings for Astley High and Whytrig Middle Schools, with community facilities, would like to invite residents to a public consultation event.

The investment in Astley High and Whytrig Middle School buildings has been a priority for Northumberland County Council for at least the last four years. They would now like to take this opportunity to invite you to an event to showcase options and to seek your feedback on the proposals.
It’s important that the county council are able to record your views, and for that reason the project team will have a feedback form, which will be handed to you on arrival at the event to enable them to capture these. The feedback form will give you the chance to tell them what you do and do not like about the designs, and this will enable the project team to identify design improvements and consultee thoughts as they move through the project phases.
It is their intention to engage with as many stakeholders as possible and gauge their views on the project set out before them.
As this is a face-to-face event you are asked to wear a face mask to attend the event (unless you can evidence an exemption) to help continue to safeguard those present from Covid-19. You are also asked to take a lateral flow test prior to attending the event. Should you receive a positive result or have Covid symptoms, you are asked not to attend the event.
As the county council are managing event numbers for Covid, please confirm your attendance by booking an appointment using the link here. If you have any access requirements that you need to let them know about, please detail this on the booking form. On arrival, you will be registered into the event.
Please note the deadline for registering for the event is noon Monday 28 March 2022.
This is the start of a process you will be involved in over the next 3 – 4 years.
