Coronation Community Grant
Published: March, 2023

On Saturday 6 May 2023, the coronation of His Majesty King Charles the Third will take place at Westminster Abbey in London.
To celebrate the Coronation, an extra bank holiday will take place on Monday 8 May 2023, two days after the official ceremony to allow people to come together and celebrate.
To help residents celebrate this momentous occasion, the council have allocated funding to enable non-profit community and voluntary groups and residents organising celebration events to apply for a grant to help them to fund events to celebrate the King’s Coronation in Seaton Valley.
The grant will be restricted to community events and activities, for example, street entertainment, including performance fees, hire costs, such as marquees, PA equipment and hospitality, excluding alcohol.
Applications for grants will be considered by the council and should demonstrate how the funding will be used to encourage the community to come together to celebrate the coronation.
Groups can apply for a maximum grant of £500 and must meet the following requirements:
- Constituted voluntary and community organisations.
- Social enterprises.
- Non-constituted groups such as resident’s street parties will be at the discretion of the council.
To apply for a grant, please complete the King’s Coronation Community Grant Application Form.
The closing date for applications is Friday 31 March 2023.
