Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons – 2 June 2022
June 2 @ 9:15 pm - 10:00 pm
We are hoping that residents will join us at the Seaton Valley Beacon in Seaton Sluice to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Beacons will be lit as part of the celebrations throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories. Beacons will also be lit in each of the capital cities of the Commonwealth countries.
Our event will start at 9:15 PM.
The music will start at 9:35 PM with a piper playing ‘Diu Regnare’. This unique tune has been especially written for this historic event.
To officially announce the lighting of the beacons, a unique Bugle Call entitled ‘Majesty’ will be undertaken by a cornet player at 9:40 PM followed by the lighting of the beacon at 9:45 PM accompanied by a Choir singing 'Song for the Commonwealth'.
Entry to the event site, on the headland behind The Kings Arms at Seaton Sluice Harbour, will be via West Terrace.
If you are travelling to the event by car there is parking at the Fountain Head Bank Car Park and also at the south end of The Ranch Car Park on the Links Road. These are only a short walk to the harbour. If you are parking elsewhere in the village please ensure that you park in a considerate manner and do not block any access or footpaths.
