Seaton Sluice Community Litter Pick – 16 October 2021
Published: October, 2021

Our first Community Litter Pick of the season was held in Seaton Sluice on Saturday 16 October 2021.
Councillors and staff from Seaton Valley Council were joined by Catherine and Andrew, who are visiting the area on holiday from the Highlands in Scotland, for a litter pick around the harbour area.
The group collected litter on Ballast Hill, down by the harbour entrance, along the Dene and in front of the Melton Constable.
Catherine and Andrew had been made aware of the litter pick by their relatives in the village. Catherine said: “We get involved in litter picks where we live up in the Highlands. When we heard there was a litter pick this morning we thought it would be a great idea to come along and help out”.
Cllr. Susan Dungworth, Chair of the Council and Hartley Ward Councillor said: “We managed to collect some rubbish but there was very little litter lying around thanks to the efforts of the Northumberland County Council Local Partnership Team and the volunteers from the Community Centre who carry out regular litter picks”.
Our next Community Litter Pick is planned for Saturday 6 November in Holywell. If you have an hour to spare, and would like to join us, we will be meeting at Dale Top at 09:30 am.
