Vacancy – Allotments and General Maintenance Assistant Part-Time (22 Hours per week)

Published: February, 2024

Seaton Valley is in the southeast of Northumberland and is made up of five villages: Holywell, New Hartley, Seaton Delaval, Seaton Sluice and Seghill. We have a population of circa. 16,000 and an electorate of just over 12,700 people. Seaton Valley is a mix of countryside, urban and coastal villages.

The Council is small, employing only five members of staff with a budget of over £600,000. However, we like to think we punch above our weight and are looking for a new part-time Allotments and General Maintenance Assistant (22 hours per week) to help with the upkeep, repair and maintenance of our allotments, playparks, and several other assets including Bus Stops, Street Furniture, and Litter Bins.

If you are used to working outdoors in a similarly busy and physically demanding role, you’re a good communicator and you’re interested in working with, for and in the community then this job may be for you.

Further details about the job are included in the application pack below and candidates are directed to the council’s website where there are more details about the operation of and the services provided by the council.

If you would like an informal conversation about the role, please contact Lorraine Fox, Services Officer on 0191 2379870.

The closing date for applications is midnight Sunday, 25 February 2024.

Completed application forms can be posted or emailed.
